We discussed setting up a Porsche Club of Bahrain with the Porsche Factory, but whilst they supported this, they did not offer us any real help.
However, I got together with a few of our customers and we decided to put on the initial meeting at the Marina Club in Manama. I arranged a buffet and drinks and we kept a few parking spaces reserved for the first members.
After the first few meetings, it was apparent that we could not keep organising this and the Club faltered before it got established. The main reason was none of the Bahraini customers would come along, so it was left to a few expatriate enthusiasts, which was not enough to support a club in its own right.
