One of my first photographic assignments was taking pictures of an AFN - Porsche Cars Great Britain football match. This was jointly organised by AFN and PCGB and it was held at a nearby Greenham fields, where part of the Beatles film was shot a few years earlier, just along the road from AFN at London road, Isleworth.
The match was extremely well supported by the senior management with John Aldington, Peter Bulbeck, Colin Smith, Keith Jenkins, Alan Smith and others playing the AFN Parts Department. I can’t remember who won, but it was taken fairly seriously by most of the players who all had a good time.
I took along a Hasselblad camera with a telephoto lens with a wire finder and I soon learned how difficult it is to shoot sports pictures.
